Lives and works in Kalimpong, India.
Brihat Rai (b. 1998) is a lens-based artist born and raised in Kalimpong, in the Eastern Himalayan region of India. Working with photography and occasionally with moving images, his practice is rooted in quiet encounters with memory, stillness, and emotional interiority. Across his recent works, he reflects on how personal histories intersect with landscape, ecology, culture, and the shifting socio-political conditions of the Himalayan foothills.
